Half Shelf

A flat shelf inside the blind for the stuff you need at hand — coffee, phone, range finder, binos, calls. Drops onto the back angled poles of any pop-up hunting blind in twenty seconds. Zero hardware.

You're four hours into a sit. Your binos are on the ground next to your boots. Your range finder is buried in a pocket. Your coffee is on the ground where it's about to freeze. Your phone is in a jacket pocket you can't reach without snagging on a stalk of grass. All of it needs a home inside the blind, off the ground, where you can reach it without moving.

This shelf is 13.2 in wide × 5.9 in deep — enough surface for a full-size tumbler, a range finder, a phone, and a pair of binos side by side without stacking. And the front edge has a comb-tooth strip with ~15 slots so you can hang gear off the front by paracord — calls, scent dispensers, keys, headlamps, whatever.

Stays put once it's on. The channel narrows toward the back arm, so the shelf settles under its own weight and wedges tight against the poles. It does not lock and it is not meant to, but it does not slide either. No slop, no rattle, no re-hanging every time you shift your weight in the chair.

Fits pop-up hunting blinds with angled back poles from 1/4 in to 9/16 in (6mm to 14mm) in diameter. That range covers the 9mm and 11mm poles most hunting blinds use, Ameristep, Primos, Rhino Blinds, Muddy and Barronett among them. If your back poles measure thicker than 9/16 in, this shelf is not the one.

Not for: hard-shell permanent blinds, elevated permanent blinds, treestand-only setups without a mounted platform (needs somewhere to hook on).

Install (drop-on, 20 seconds):

1. Inside your blind, lift the shelf up to the two back angled poles going down toward the floor corners.
2. The bracket hooks at the back-top corners cradle onto the poles.
3. Lower until the shelf sits level. Its own weight wedges it against the poles. Load it with your gear.

To remove: lift up and pull forward. Stows flat in a pack (0.75 in thick).

Works in the ice shanty too. Same brackets, same drop-on install, same poles. A flat place to set a jigging rod, a coffee, your phone and a box of tungsten instead of setting them on the ice. Hunting season and ice season barely overlap, so one shelf covers both.
